Overview

Aim

The 5-day summer school is designed to bring together students and professors focusing on applied photonics in micro- and nanosystems. The program will address three critical societal issues that benefit from applied nanophotonics: energy, sensing, and communication. You will have the unique opportunity to attend seminars given by distinguished professors from the field and engage in stimulating discussions about their (and your!) research. Furthermore, there will be a workshop on computational techniques and tools for nanophotonics and the possibility of attending on-site lab tours.

Additionally, participants are kindly invited to do a poster presentation of their work to broaden the horizon about what is possible in the field of nanophotonics.

Ultimately, the school’s goal is to endorse collaborative projects between students and professors from different nanophotonics backgrounds and participants will have the chance to put together a mock project proposal, with professor feedback.

Program

The summer school is hosted by EPFL Lausanne from the 10th-14th of July with activities for exploring the beautiful city as well as visiting the Montreux Jazz Festival.
